SECO Landscapes is a "one-stop" shop
For most projects, we handle the full scope of services, from design through construction documents, bidding and actual construction. Your post-construction landscape management program can insure the long, healthy life and highest performance of a project.

Each project is unique. We can complete any or all phases of work, and can successfully collaborate with other designers, craftsmen or contractors.

Getting started
Call us for a free On-Site Consultation (one hour+/-).  We get together, “walk the site” and talk with you about your project, but mostly we listen.  During the consultation, we review your Creative Checklist and evaluate your project to determine priorities, budgets and suitable materials.  We look at the scope of your project, its’ design elements and site issues, and explore possible solutions.

We discuss rough design concepts to establish suitable guidelines. This allows you to determine whether you would like changes and how you wish to continue with the project.

We encourage every client to get a Design/Plan.  Most successful projects begin with a detailed plan, or at least a comprehensive design.  Specific project descriptions and other details ensure everybody knows “what is or is not included”, and helps avoid problems or disappointment.

Design/Plan Fees
Good design, once implemented becomes an investment in your property that endures and appreciates in value. At SECO Landscapes, we work hard to develop your dreams and ideas into an inspired, elegant solution. If you are looking for the best quality combined with design value you will be pleased with our work.

When you consider the actual savings you’ll enjoy by utilizing a Design/Plan, you’ll see how costs of the design/plan are more than recovered during construction.  Initial costs often range from $300 to $1200 for the design/plan phase.  Elaborate projects may cost $5,000 or more, including engineering, architect, construction blueprints, soil testing, etc.  You always control the costs because you set the requirements.

Design/Plan usually takes only a week or two, depending on the scale and complexity of the project, concept drawings and plant schedule.

Schematic Design
From the first on-site meeting, a program and ideas are generated to conceive the foundation of the design concept. We listen carefully to our clients' needs, and to interpret them with attention and finesse. From here our Landscape Designer works to create the Schematic design, a loose but formative plan or a set of graphic ideas for the entire property. Construction costs are roughly estimated at this point, close attention is given to bringing the project in according to your established budget for the project.

We meet again to review our design work, selecting features, elements and materials, and formulate the basis for the final plan.

Design/Plan Documents
Computer or hand-drawn scaled plan sheets are created, showing the final project with all proposed improvements. We meet again to review the final Design/Plan and review our estimate for the project. If you decide to have SECO landscapes complete the project, we schedule the work and sign contracts at this time.

Costs and Budget
When you sign a contract for Landscaping with a Licensed Contractor, it will include a deposit of $1,000. or less, progress payments, and a completion payment.  Because a licensed Contractor carries a minimum $10,000 Bond, you are not at risk when making payments on the contract.

Progress payments allow the project to move forward with costs for materials and labor being paid for only as the project moves towards completion.
